Case Study 6

29 year old 15 stone , 6foot 2inch male—treated him for 10 years for numerous minor football injuries.

This occasion he presents with the results of a hard kick onto the lateral part of the right quadriceps during a recent game. The bruising had gone but te feel of the massive contracture about the size of a hand around 6 inches about and lateral to the patella.

I believe in removing these contractures that result from hard impact because they frequently turn into calcified lumps which must affect the integrity of the whole muscle. It took three session of deep tissue work with thumb and elbow to both soften the hardness and to bring the muscle away from its adherence to the femur.
