K is 58, in good health and happily married with good family relations. She begins to experience, having virtually no serious need to see a doctor for 30 years, headaches and neck stiffness. She is prescribed pain killers by her GP. There is no improvement in the condition so she is advised to see a physio. She chooses one near by who has been in practice for 20 years. She is given exercises and is prescribed a TENS machine. This has no effect and a further trip to the GP yields pills to calm her down!!
Examination revealed absolutely nothing but a C7 seizure. The first session of mobilisation produced a 90%reduction in symptoms within 3 days and the second session removed all symptoms. She revealed that part of the symptom pattern had been elbow symptoms which she had no linked to neck trouble—both GP and physio considered the elbow problem not related. She had been told that the problem was “probably postural”, by several people. A Ca7 seizure is so common that it makes no sense to blame posture – this condition can be found on 15 year olds and absent on stooped 70 year olds! She is pain free and symptom-free
